– The Wildlife Education and Rehabilitation Center will release a Barn Owl at the Outdoor Sports Center’s corporation yard, 16545 Murphy Ave., at 7:45 p.m. today. It was one of four nestlings that fell from their tree nest in San Juan Bautista in May.

Friday Night Music Series continues

– The 19th Annual Friday Night Music Series continues tonight with The Dan Gogh’s and their rockin’ rhythm and blues from 7 to 9 p.m. at the Community and Cultural Center at the corner of Monterey Road and Dunne Avenue.

A batty trip at Calero County Park

– Take a ride to the Calero Bat Inn from 5 to 7 a.m. Saturday and 5:45 to 9:15 p.m. Aug. 27 at Calero County Park. Bring a small chair or blanket, closed-toe shoes, bug spray, layered clothing and a flashlight. Meet at the Calero Park office. Reservations are required.

Walk with the birds

– A series of walks led by Jane Haley, a National Park Service docent and Wildlife Education and Rehabilitation Center volunteer, continues from 9 to 11 a.m. Saturday along Coyote Creek, north of Morgan Hill. Participants will have a chance to observe migratory birds as well as discover an appreciation of local birds, their habitat and ecological importance. These walks are not recommended for young children. The programs are free, space is limited and reservations are required.
