History: Robert-Hamilton started her business in 2002 and founded a professional animal trainers group called South Bay Trainers.

She began working with animals in 1992 in the horse field of dressage. She apprenticed at TexOver Farm in Conroe, Texas and with other Grand Prix-level riders and horses. She flew back to Canada (where she’s from) to obtain her coaching certificate from the Canadian Equestrian Federation. After about eight years she decided to leave the horse industry. At that same time she was highly competitive with her two Doberman Pinschers in AKC obedience trials and gained national status for being a finalist in 2000 for the Top 20 Obedience with the DPCA and in 2002 with each of her Dobermans.

In 2002 she graduated from the nonprofit animal welfare organization San Francisco SPCA and obtained honors during an internship specializing in dog aggression. She’s currently working on her full certification with The International Association of Animal Behavior Consultants (IAABC) and will be enrolling in a four-year master’s equivalent of canine behavioral sciences with the Companion Animal Sciences Institute. She is also a Certified Pet Dog Trainer from the Certification Council for Professional Dog Trainers. She lives in Morgan Hill with her husband, her hummingbirds and her two Rhodesian Ridgebacks – Gunnar and Isabella.

She also gives teleclasses through Raising Canine for dog professionals or related animal professionals interested in particular behavior topics. The business also offers animal behavior sessions, which educate owners about their animals’ behavior needs.

Philosophy: View all living animals with compassion and respect. Using the most humane least intrusive and minimal aversions in training and/or behavior change programs.
