The Live Oak boys water polo team dominated Monterey Tuesday night to win 22-6 in the first half of a double-header.
Ryan Gautschi led all scoring with seven goals – more than Monterey scored combined. Bryson Bailey, after a strong performance in the John Schmidt Tournament last weekend, once again had a good game with four goals.
Justin Short had three goals in the game, and Mike Mitchell, Mark Ahlin and Corey Robinson scored a pair of goals each. Shea Coleman, who played goalie to give Jason Kim a break, scored a goal, and Dennis Lowe also scored.
Ahlin flipped in a shot from the opposite side of the pool for good measure as the buzzer sounded.
Both teams were a little confused by the officiating. There were 21 combined kickouts between the two teams and four major fouls.
