Canisius College sophomore pitcher and Live Oak graduate Juliette Bowers was named the Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference’s Pitcher of the Week, the conference office announced Feb. 26.
Bowers picked up her first win of the season in the circle Feb. 24, after the Golden Griffins beat Norfolk State 16-5 in the Longwood Invitational in Farmville, Va. The 5-foot-10 hurler allowed one run on four hits while striking out five in five innings of work for the Blue and Gold in her first appearance of the season. Dating back to last season, the Canisius pitching staff has won three of the last five pitcher of the week awards.
The league award for Bowers is the first of her career.
