Residents living in west Morgan Hill want to warn their neighbors – many of whom own small animals – about a wandering bobcat lurking around the area.

A man who lives in a home on Water Avenue off Easy Street near Santa Teresa Boulevard spotted the wild animal around 10 a.m. Wednesday.

“It was cruising through the grass. Out here it’s knee-high,” the man said.

The Morgan Hill resident owns turkeys and dogs on his five-acre property, but said he none were injured or missing. He said he hadn’t spotted a bobcat that close to his home before.

The Santa Clara County Sheriff’s Department were contacted and told residents to stay alert and understand that bobcats reside in Morgan Hill just like people.
