Morgan Hill officer honored by Mothers Against Drunk Driving

On June 2, Morgan Hill police officer Steve Pennington was honored at a state meeting of Mothers Against Drunk Driving. Officer Pennington was recognized with the California Hero Award for his dedication in the fight against drunken driving. Officer Pennington has made more than 350 DUI arrests in the past 10 years, saving countless lives in the process, according to a press release from the Morgan Hill Police Department. Morgan Hill is a much safer community thanks to officer Pennington's diligence and commitment to ridding our streets of drunk drivers, the releases states.    

No answer yet to mysterious escort

“Dear Red Phone, I was at the Safeway gas station on Wednesday, May 3 at 7 p.m. Morgan Hill police were escorting an extremely large truck that was pulling some sort of metal container. The container was so heavy that not only was it being pulled by a large semi, it was also being pushed by two large trucks the size of tow trucks. Traffic was stopped to allow this caravan to get through. As I headed home, traffic was stopped again at Butterfield Boulevard and Dunne Avenue. What was in this container?”
