Acorns, Bulldogs both at home Friday
MORGAN HILL — Following three days of scattered rain that led to the postponement of Mount Hamilton Division baseball Wednesday, Live Oak and Sobrato will resume league play under clear sky today.
The Acorns and Bulldogs are set to play 3:30 p.m. make-up games at Leigh and Pioneer and will host the second game of each series Friday.
Today marks the second-place Bulldogs’ first action in almost a week. Sobrato (8-10 overall, 7-5 league) is coming off a 4-0 loss at Scotts Valley on Saturday. That came a day after the Bulldogs beat Santa Clara 12-5 in Washington Park to earn their first nonleague victory this season.
Sobrato trails Leland by two games with seven round-robin division contests left after Friday.
Live Oak (9-9, 4-8), which will visit the Bulldogs on Wednesday for a decisive Game 3 of their season series, heated up last week, winning three straight against Gilroy, Fremont and North Salinas.
The Acorns were a sweep of Leigh away from climbing into a massive tie for fourth place, the cutoff for automatic entry to the Central Coast Section playoffs. Westmont (6-5-1 league) is third followed by Santa Teresa, Branham and Pioneer at 6-6. Leigh is a game behind Live Oak in eighth place.
