The Mustangs hold up their first place medals. 

The 9U Morgan Hill Mustangs finished the Bigtime Baseball Cinco de Mayo Shootout 3-0 Sunday.

The Mustangs outscored their opponents 24-9 over the three wins.

The weekend started with a 8-7 win over the Salinas Valley Braves. The Mustangs led 8-0 before the Braves stormed back in the fourth and fifth innings. Shane Callison (2-for-3, with two stolen bases), Race Thompson (2-for-2, with a double) and Aiden Keenan (two RBIs) led the way offensively for the Mustangs.

They Mustangs followed the victory with a 9-0 shutout of the LAMV Mavericks. Will Gnibus and Thomas Mordue combined for the shutout.

The weekend was closed with a 7-2 victory over the Salinas Valley Braves in the championship game. Thomas DiVittorio (2-for-3, RBI), Mordue (two doubles) and Matthew Sorci led the way offensively. On the mound, Dante Bellistri, Gnibus and Callison combined for the victory.
