A barn that was used for storage in west Morgan Hill was completely burned to the ground early Sunday morning.
Santa Clara County firefighters arrived to the burning structure on the 17300 block of Jean Court, at Hill Road about 4:41 a.m. The 600-square-foot barn was already fully engulfed in flames when the first engine arrived, according to battalion chief Daron Pisciotta.
The barn had been used for storage of “regular household things” such as furniture, and did not contain any animals, Pisciotta said. The barn was a “complete loss,” but a home on the same property was not exposed to fire and was not damaged, he said.
No one was injured in the blaze.
Engines and trucks from both the county fire department and South Santa Clara County Fire Department were at the scene knocking down the fire until about 8 a.m.
The cause of the fire is unknown, but is under investigation, Pisciotta said.
