Hey Red Phone, just wondering who to contact in order to have a
band considered for booking at future downtown events? Thanks.

“Hey Red Phone, just wondering who to contact in order to have a band considered for booking at future downtown events? Thanks.”

Red Phone: Dear Need a Gig, Red Phone contacted Christine Giusiana, president and CEO of the Morgan Hill Chamber of Commerce, who said they are always open to talking to entertainers for all their events, such as No Bull BBQ Cook-off, Friday Night Music Series and the Taste of Morgan Hill.

The contact for the Chamber of Commerce is Michele Naylor at (408) 779-9444.

Jorge Briones does all the Downtown Association bookings at (408) 779-3190.

Pat Curtis does the booking for Thursday Night Music (408) 778-4288.

Sunday Minnich books the Music and entertainment for the Mushroom Mardi Gras. She can be reached at (408) 778-1786.

Good caller, hope this helps.

Wine stroll was a huge success

“Dear Red Phone, the complaint published in Fridays Red Phone edition was sour grapes. I too attended the Morgan Hill Wine Stroll that weekend. I too arrived about two hours after the event started. And I had a marvelous time! No one was running out of wine even at 4:30 p.m. when I left. I enjoyed the live music, the many friends I met and chatting with winery owners and shopkeepers alike.

I applaud the Downtown Association on a successful event and will certainly attend in the future!”

Red Phone: Dear Enjoyed the Stroll, not sure if your sour grapes pun was intentional, but it fits. Red Phone spoke with several wine strollers who also had a great time.

Some said when the rare vintner had just one type of wine left, it forced them out of their comfort zone and they tried the white, for example, and were pleasantly surprised. There were a few wineries that ran out, but all in all, it was a great event, and as Jorge Briones, the executive director of the Morgan Hill Downtown Association said, they are looking into why some wineries ran out, and are looking forward to an even better event next time.

Good caller, see you on a stroll.
