Morgan Hill – Nine different girls took part in the scoring as the Morgan Hill Clovers girls’ lacrosse team remained unbeaten Saturday by defeating the Petaluma Rivercats 13-6.

Natalie Anninger and Shae Collinge each had three goals and two assists, and Ashley Bloom had three goals as the Clovers extended their record to 9-0.

Also scoring for Morgan Hill were Karissa Watanabe with one goal and one assist, Lindsay Cabreros with one goal, Krista Cavanaugh with one goal, Sarah Pocus with three assists and Elise Laporte with one assist.

The Clovers demonstrated with speed and stick skills why they are the team to beat in the Northern California Junior Lacrosse Association High School division. With 25 shots on goal, the Clovers dominated play while the defense fended off a speedy Petaluma team. Goalie Katie Sullivan had eight saves.

The Clovers, coached by Amber Phillips and Clint Peterson, are in action Saturday and Sunday at Stanford University at the largest lacrosse tournament on the West Coast, the Western States Tournament. They will face teams from Washington, Oregon and Colorado.
