An arsonist set fire to a Nordstrom Elementary School toilet seat over Memorial Day Weekend, according to the Santa Clara County Fire Department.
Jeremy Davis, an arson investigator for the department, said a student bathroom at the school was left unlocked. Sometime between 7 p.m. May 22 and 8 a.m. May 26 an arsonist snuck in, placed toilet paper around the toilet seat and set fire to it, destroying the seat. The estimated cost to replace the toilet seat is $26.70, according to a Morgan Hill Unified School District official.
There are no suspects or witnesses, and school maintenance cleaned up the debris.
