Do you support Gov. Arnold Schwarzenegger’s plan
– Props 1A through 1F – to balance the state budget?
THIS WEEK’S QUESTION:

“Do you support Gov. Arnold Schwarzenegger’s plan – Props 1A through 1F – to balance the state budget?” Yes: 3 No: 2

? Lisa Pampuch: “No, I’m voting against all except 1F because they do not address California’s structural budget problems. Instead, they’re just more of the same budget tricks.”

? John Quick: “I support the concept of restructuring the state budget process. I am not at all sure that this patchwork is a good beginning for a true reform process. A two-year budget cycle would be a good place to start.”

? Chris Bryant: “Something needs to be done and apparently our elected officials are unwilling to solve this themselves. While not ideal, these measures are a start and may well be the only way we can move towards having a balanced budget.”

? Emily Shem-Tov: “Something clearly has to be done to avoid cuts in important programs, but 1D in particular seems ill-advised and they all have some worrying consequences and unclear language. I do hope that people take the election seriously though and don’t just sit out the off-year.”

? Karen Anderson: “I think a rainy day fund, otherwise known as a reserve, is a good idea. However, that is only one of his Props.”
