Now that the Swiss have refused to extradite Roman Polanski,
should the U.S. still pursue arresting him if he leaves
Switzerland?
THIS WEEK’S QUESTION:
“Now that the Swiss have refused to extradite Roman Polanski, should the U.S. still pursue arresting him if he leaves Switzerland?” Yes: 6 No: 3
? Karen Anderson: “Yes. He should not be exempt from justice either because of the Swiss or his fame.”
? Dave Appling: “Only if Polanski should enter U.S. jurisdiction. Otherwise, the game isn’t worth the candle.”
? Bert Berson: “Yes. Polanski is being prosecuted not persecuted.”
? Chris Bryant: “Yes, however they shouldn’t devote resources to an effort of trying to extract him. I’m sure they have more important issues to deal with.”
? David Cohen: “No. Enough is enough.”
? Julian Mancias: “No. Too much time has passed to make this case relevant. Additionally, the victim has stated that she wants the case dropped.”
? Henry Miller: “Let’s see. He pled guilty to giving drugs and alcohol to a 13-year old minor, having sex with a minor, and fleeing the U.S. before sentencing. Yea, that should be enough to pursue him, put him away and throw away the key. Or should ‘artists’ be given special consideration because they’re ‘artists’? No way!”
? Lisa Pampuch: “Yes. He committed a serious crime and justice still needs to be served.”
? Jeff Smith: “Yes. He drugged and raped a 13-year-old girl. Just because he is rich and famous does not make him above the law.”
