Morgan Hill – Detectives investigating an armed robbery on Sunday are following several leads which could result in the arrest of two suspects, according to Morgan Hill police Cmdr. David Swing, but they are asking anyone with information to contact the department.

The robbery occurred Sunday evening at approximately 6:38pm, Swing said, at the Shell gas station at 810 E. Dunne Avenue. A female clerk was by herself in the market of the station when two male suspects confronted her, each brandishing a handgun, and ordered her to empty the two cash registers and the office of cash and place it in a black bag they carried.

The clerk was not harmed by the suspects.

Swing said the clerk described the suspects as Hispanic between 18- and 20-years old, 5 feet, 6 inches tall and between 150 and 160 pounds. She told police one suspect was wearing a black hooded sweatshirt, a red shirt and blue jeans, while the other suspect was wearing a black hooded sweatshirt and blue jeans.

The clerk told police she complied with the suspects’ demands, and they then ordered her into the office, instructing her to lay face down for 30 seconds or they would shoot her. After the suspects left, the clerk called police, Swing said. She did not notice the suspects arriving or see them leave the store.

Police are not disclosing the amount of cash taken from the store, Swing said.

Swing said anyone with information about the robbery or suspects is asked to contact Morgan Hill police Det. Scott Silva at (408) 779-2101. To give information anonymously, contact Silicon Valley Crime Stoppers at (408) 947-STOP (7867).
