The day that Morgan Hill has been waiting for is finally here. The Morgan Hill Aquatics Center will have its grand opening celebration Saturday and Sunday. At long last, it’s time for the BIG SPLASH. So grab your swimsuit, sunscreen and towel because the time is right to jump in.
Saturday begins with an Open House from 9-10 a.m. followed by a City Council-led free tour, starting at 10 a.m. The ribbon cutting, which will open the center to the public, will be at 11 a.m. There will be children’s games and free hot dogs all day with the gates closing at 5 p.m.
The Center will open at 11 a.m. Sunday for public swim. There will be competitive swim demonstrations running throughout the day starting at 9 a.m. that will include the Morgan Hill Swim Club and a water polo match and demonstration. Gates will close at 5 p.m. The Center will reopen from 6-9 p.m. for a special teen only swim (12-18 years old).
Eco-Fact of the Week: The Morgan Hill Aquatics Center includes the following fabulous features:
• Daily Lap Swimming Hours;
• Daily Recreational Swimming and Water Play;
• 50-Meter Competition Pool;
• Sprayground and Water Play Toys;
• Zero-Entry Recreational Pool With Slide;
• Swim Lessons; and
• Water Aerobics
It is a truly impressive facility that is available for private parties and celebrations. It even has a concession area for your shopping and munching pleasure.
