Alyce passed away peacefully in her home on Jan. 25 , 2009. Born in Owego, NY on May 20,1920. Beloved wife of Cliff, loving mother of Bill, Alycia, and Alyson. Grandmother of 11 and great-grandmother of 8.

Known by all for her cheerful sunny smile, she was an outstanding person who has accomplished things not only for her life but has created opportunities for others. She has inspired so many people through her dance. Starting at age 15 she owned a dance studio in New York. Later to open a local dance studio in San Jose, Alyce Porter Dancers for 33 years. After retiring she started the fabulous flappers dance group. She created a home for 100’s of young dancers which in turn opened many door for them. Dance and music was her life, but she gave so much more then just dance to the children. From singing on the radio, to an accomplished pianist, to being a Radio City Rockette, to her many hours of volunteer time, and an active member of the Elks. She lived a full life. She was loved by all. Services will be Sat. 1-31-09 at 3:00 P.M. Morgan Hill Presbyterian Church, 16970 Dewitt Ave.
