games, 25-10, 25-11, 25-22 on Wednesday.
The 13th seeded Live Oak girls volleyball team fell in the first round of the CCS playoffs to 4th seeded Aptos in three straight games, 25-10, 25-11, 25-22 on Wednesday.
“We were out of synch in the first game because the girls were playing in positions they weren’t used to,” said Acorns’ head coach Laura Coleman. “We had some long rallies and great hustle. You could tell they wanted to win.”
The Acorns’ middle hitter Katarina Cinkova led the team with 10 kills in the loss. Cinkova led the TCAL in the regular season with 69 blocks.
A young team with just three seniors, the Acorns will retain the core of their team next season.
