The stables’ staff and animals—including King Louie the 18-pound bunny, Funny Bunny and Flower the miniature horse—appeared at BookSmart in downtown Morgan Hill. Sonrisa Stables organized the event at the independent bookstore, which frequently hosts children’s programs, in order to raise awareness of the stables’ new location at Red Fox Farms in Gilroy, according to Sonrisa Stables owner and Sonrisa Equestrian Team trainer Karen Topping.

Sonrisa Stables offers year-round equestrian training for children ages 8 and up, as well as ongoing rigorous courses and camps, trail rides, competitions and other horse events, Topping explained.

Sonrisa Stables will have another public meet-and-greet with mascots at Fro-Yo, 406 Tennant Station in Morgan Hill Saturday, April 4. The first 100 people to arrive will “win a pony,” Topping said, and Sonrisa will offer $50 off memberships for those who sign up at the event.
