Morgan Hill Police are investigating reports of shots fired on Cosmo Avenue Friday afternoon.
The police department heard from “multiple callers” who reported hearing gunshots in the area about 4pm Dec. 20, according to Morgan Hill Police Sgt. Ray Ramos. Investigating officers determined the incident occurred on Cosmo Avenue between Monterey Road and Del Monte Avenue, in front of the Park Place apartment complex.
Just after 4pm, police had set up a crime scene around the area surrounding the roadway on Cosmo Avenue where officers think the shooting occurred. Investigators were questioning potential witnesses in the parking lot of a nearby shopping center.
The callers also told police that several people were seen running away from the area after hearing the gunshots, Ramos said.
Police have not identified a suspect or suspects, and do not know if anyone was injured, Ramos said. Investigators have alerted area hospitals to be aware of any potential shooting victims that may seek treatment.
