Steady rains throughout the weekend didn’t quite cause Santa Claus’ Magic Ship to float down Monterey Road as he proceeded through the annual Holiday Lights parade Dec. 7. But, as always, Santa and his ship made a grand entrance to Morgan Hill as the community welcomed the winter holiday season during the Saturday evening parade and festivities.
Young musicians dancers, scouts, martial artists and students joined local non-profit organizations and public dignitaries in the annual parade down Monterey Road Dec. 7. The procession ended at the Community and Cultural Center, where city officials and community representatives rang in the holidays with the city’s tree lighting.
Festivities continued at the CCC, where a long line of children, and their parents, braved the wet weather to have a one-on-one talk with Santa about their holiday wishes.
The annual Morgan Hill Holiday of Lights parade is organized by the City of Morgan Hill and the Morgan Hill Kiwanis Club.
