Vandalism:
• A resident of the 100 block of Lindo Lane reported the rear window of the resident’s Ford Ranger was shattered, possibly with a rock. Nothing was stolen from the truck. The report was taken on Jan. 26 at 2:12am.
• A Paradise Valley Elementary teacher reported the teacher’s GMC Yukon was vandalized while parked in the teacher’s parking lot. A window was shattered, but nothing was stolen. The report was taken on Jan. 28 at 7:22pm.
• A Morgan Hill resident reported two boys were throwing rocks at passing vehicles from the patio area of one of the Murphy Ranch. Apartment Homes units. She reported damage to her vehicle. The report was taken at 4:19pm on Jan. 30.
• A resident of Creekbed Court reported a decorative flag at the residence was cut in half. The report was taken on Jan. 28 at 1:19pm.
• A resident of Creekbed Court who earlier reported a flag cut in half reported crabmeat and chowmein were sprinkled on her sidewalk and garden. She said she is Jewish and she thinks the suspect is a native German who lived in Germany during World War 2. The officer who investigated said this could possibly be a hate crime.
• Cochrane Village Apartments reported someone cut the electrical wires to building 12 of the complex and carports 1 and 2. The report was taken on Feb. 4 at 11:22am.
• A Morgan Hill resident reported her boyfriend broke a window of her vehicle. She told police she was going to drive him home, and he picked up some rocks and threw them at the vehicle, shattering the rear driver’s side window. The report was taken at 10:43pm on Feb. 4.
• An employee of Anritsu on Jarvis Drive reported the employee’s locked Honda Civic was vandalized while parked in the company parking lot. A window was shattered, but nothing was stolen from the vehicle. The report was taken on Feb. 7 at 7:17pm.
• A Morgan Hill resident reported while driving on the freeway, he cut someone off; the other person then followed him to the Home Depot on East Dunne Avenue, and when the resident came out, his Dodge Caravan had been “keyed.” The suspect vehicle was an older yellow Volkswagen Rabbit. The report was taken at 6:33pm on Feb. 12.
Auto burglary:
• A Ford Escape parked in the back lot at Grifall Family Chiropractic was broken into during the day. A window was shattered, and a couple ofbags containing clothes, groceries and an MP3 player were stolen. The report was taken on Jan. 24 at 8:26pm.
• A resident of La Bella Court reported the resident’s purse was stolen from the resident’s locked Chevy Tahoe while it was parked in front of the residents. A window was shattered. The report was taken at 3:56pm on Jan. 26.
• A Morgan Hill resident report the rear window of her rented GMC Yukon was shattered while it was parked at the Burger King on East Dunne Avenue. Luggage was stolen from the vehicle. The report was taken on Jan. 27 at 2:34pm.
• A Morgan Hill resident reported the resident’s vehicle was broken into while parked at Garden Expressions on Monterey Road. A purse and wallet were stolen from the vehicle. The report was taken at 7:05pm on Jan. 27.
n A Morgan Hill resident reported the resident’s GMC Yukon was broken into while at the Pump N Go Gas station on Monterey road. A window was shattered and a rim that was inside the vehicle was stolen. The report was taken on Feb. 1 at 8:52am.
n A resident of the Del Monte Village Townhomes reported the resident’s Volkswagen Jetta was broken into overnight. A window was shattered and the stereo was stolen. The report was taken at 9:26am on Feb. 1.
• A Morgan Hill resident reported his Mazda was broken into while parked at Rawson Custom Cabinets on Church Street. A stereo, a laptop computer, checkbook and credit cards were stolen from the vehicle. The report was taken on Jan. 29 at 10:06am.
• An employee of Coldwell Banker in Tennant Station reported the employee’s locked Nissan Pathfinder was broken into while parked at the business. A stereo and clothing were stolen from the Pathfinder. The report was taken at 6:29pm on Jan. 29.
• A Morgan Hill resident reported her purse was stolen from her unlocked Chevy Tahoe while it was at the Chevron gas station on East Dunne Avenue. She told police she left the purse in the vehicle while she went inside to pay. The report was taken on Feb. 6 at 2:57pm.
• A Morgan Hill resident reported a purse and the stereo were stolen from her friend’s unlocked Honda Accord while it was parked at the Super Taqueria on Monterey Road. Three suspects were described to police. The report was taken at 7:24pm on Feb. 13.
• A Morgan Hill resident reported her purse was stolen from her locked Ford Windstar while it was parked at Curves on Monterey Road. A window of the vehicle was shattered. The report was taken on Feb. 14 at 9:46am.
Battery:
• Washington Mutual Bank on Monterey Road reported a customer walked into the bank and said her husband had just beat her, took her keys from the ignition of her car and left her and the car stranded in the intersection at Monterey Road and Main Avenue. The report was taken on Feb. 2 at 1:20pm.
Petty theft:
• A resident of the 16000 block of Church Street reported a 10-speed bike was stolen from the residence sometime in the morning. The report was taken at 4:48pm on Jan. 21.
• A resident of Jasmine Way reported tools were stolen from the bed of the resident’s truck overnight, including various hand and power tools and two power sanders, total valued at approximately $800. The report was taken on Feb. 1 at 11:44am.
• Safeway in Tennant Station reported a shoplifter stole 16 boxes of Sudafed medicine and ran out of the store. The report was taken on Feb. 2 at 2:32pm.
• A resident of the 2200 block of Brega Lane reported a FedEx package containing a cell phone was stolen from the front of the residence. The report was taken at 4:31pm on Feb. 2.
• Safeway on East Dunne Avenue reported a shoplifting in progress as two suspects loaded a shopping cart with razor blades, diapers and alcohol and headed for the east side door of the business. The report was taken on Feb. 4 at 7:53pm.
• A guest at Extended Stay America on Jarvis Drive reported his clothing was stolen from the bed of his pickup which was in the motel parking lot. The report was taken at 9:11pm on Feb. 13.
Fraud:
• A resident of the 15800 block of El Pajaro Court reported a credit card stolen from her was used at the Shell gas station on East Dunne Avenue. She told police her purse was stolen from her unlocked vehicle on Feb. 1. There was also $500 in her purse, she told police. The Shell gas station may have the license plate number of the vehicle of the suspect who used the credit card. The report was taken on Feb. 4 at 5:02pm.
• La Playa Business Center on West Main Avenue reported a customer’s check that was cashed at the business came back from the bank as stolen. The suspect came back with another check, and the business called the company listed on the check, and the checks were confirmed stolen. The report was taken at 2:01pm on Feb. 7.
• A resident of the 18400 block of Shadowbrook Way reported his mail was stolen a few months ago, and now someone is using his checks. The report was taken on Feb. 11 at 1:03pm.
Defrauding innkeeper:
• Holiday Inn Express Hotel on Condit Road reported someone who gave an address on Cimarron Drive stayed in a room and did not pay. It also appeared the suspect was dealing drugs from the room. The report was taken on Feb. 14 at 2:34pm.
Identity theft:
• A resident of Fairway Court reported someone is using her Visa debit card at businesses in Morgan Hill though she still has the card in her possession. The card has been used for $538 and $87. The report was taken on Feb. 2 at 10:30am.
• A Morgan Hill resident reported someone used his wife’s identification to open accounts with Macy’s and Sears. The report was taken on Feb. 5 at 2pm.
