At 10:29 a.m. a call was placed to the Santa Clara County Sheriff’s office that a body was found in Morgan Hill on the railroad tracks. Morgan Hill Cpl. Ray Ramos said the body is in MHPD’s jurisdiction.

At 12:30 p.m. several Morgan Hill police officers, the coroner and several Crime Scene Investigators were at the scene. The body was not covered yet and was lying face down, the head toward the tracks. The unidentified person had brown hair and was wearing a dark jacket with the hot-rod racing logo “NHRA” on the back.

It’s unclear if the person was hit by a train or if the person died in unrelated circumstances.

An officer on the scene said the scheduled Amtrak train had already passed on the tracks earlier today.
