Cajun food coming soon to Morgan Hill

Dear Red Phone, our downtown is a really nice place to visit,
especially in the late afternoons when it comes alive. But if you
just go for a walk or just to sit on one of the benches and are not
eating at a restaurant, one downside is the lack of public
restrooms.

“Dear Red Phone, our downtown is a really nice place to visit, especially in the late afternoons when it comes alive. But if you just go for a walk or just to sit on one of the benches and are not eating at a restaurant, one downside is the lack of public restrooms. Sometimes you just need to go and the closest place is the Community Center, but the restrooms there are not always open. Wouldn’t it be possible to open the building where the former liquor store used to be on Third Street and Monterey Road and turn it into public restrooms or something for those of us who need them?”

Red Phone: Dear Can’t Find a Restroom, Red Phone can’t believe no one else has thought of that. It’s a good idea, especially during the summer months during the Thursday Night Music Series, the downtown wine strolls, the Fourth of July Parade and the Holiday Lights Parade.

The building is owned by the city’s Redevelopment Agency and it has sat empty for the past year, so who knows. Red Phone will forward your idea to the city manager and council members.

Hope that helps, good caller.

Where was the info about parade?

“Red Phone, how come the downtown Christmas parade never gets advertised as much as the 4th of July parade?

I always miss the parade because I never know what day it is supposed to happen. It doesn’t get announced here in the Morgan Hill Times, or around town, or at least I haven’t seen any posters or announcements, nor have I heard people talk about it. It just suddenly happens.”

Red Phone: Dear Missed It, the Times ran several calendar items in the past several weeks, announcing the parade.

Red Phone will contact the Kiwanis Club, which puts on the parade, to see if more cannot be done next year to let people know when the parade is going to happen.

It is a beautiful, small-town event and is one of many events that make Morgan Hill such a special place to live.
