Accident: A Union City man was arrested 11:10 p.m. Saturday on suspicion of drunken driving following an accident on southbound highway 101 at Coyote Creek Drive.
Francisco Martinez, 26, lost control of his 1986 Ford and collided with the guardrail. The car then traveled back into traffic where it hit a 2002 GMC SUV driven by Razvan Podesca, 36, of Morgan Hill. San Jose Fire Department freed Martinez from his car after several unsuccessful attempts by the California Highway Patrol.
Martinez was taken by helicopter to San Jose Medical Center. On the way, Martinez became unresponsive, but medical personnel were able to revive him. He was later arrested on charges of drunk driving.
