Gavilan College invites the public to raise its awareness about how it feels to live with disabilities by participating in hands-on, role-playing activities.
This year’s event will feature interactive activities, including “Walk a Mile in My Shoes”, a wheelchair par course and “Do You See What I See?”, a blind experience.
The activities are designed to provide an understanding of the challenges and barriers people with disabilities face every day. They will help the general public understand the “what, where, and why” of special accommodations. The event takes place Wednesday, Oct. 1, in the quad at Gavilan College’s main campus in Gilroy, 5055 Santa Teresa Blvd., 11 a.m. – 1 p.m. Details: 848-4965.
