MORGAN HILL POLICE
Burglary: An employee of Golf, Etc., reported the front door of the business was “smashed in” when the employee arrived in the morning. The employee waited for the police to arrive before entering the business. The report was taken on Feb. 19 at 8:21 a.m.
• A resident of the 600 block of Spring Avenue reported he caught a juvenile trying to break into his neighbor’s home. He gave a description to the police and went after the juvenile, who had run away. The report was taken at 4:57 p.m. on Feb. 19.
Vandalism: A resident of the 2800 block of Fountain Oaks Drive reported firecrackers were exploded inside his mailbox, damaging it, the night before. After that, the resident said he heard firecrackers in his driveway. The report was taken at 4:41 p.m. on Feb. 20.
• A resident of the 2700 block of Mira Bella Circle reported juveniles were “launching” golf balls into her yard and the neighbor’s yard. A neighbor also called to report golf balls being hit into the yard and hitting the roof of the residence. She also told police a window to a home in the area was broken by a golf ball. The report was taken on Feb. 20 at 4:43 p.m.
• A resident of the 16700 block of Barnell Avenue reported the resident’s vehicle, which was parked in an enclosed garage area that four other residents have access to, was “keyed” on the hood. The report was taken at 7:12 p.m. on Feb. 20.
• A resident of the 17900 block of Hillwood Lane reported two people on the property sawing branches off of her tree. She told police that the same people came by a couple of weeks before and asked if they wanted them to cut branches from the tree. The resident’s husband said the trespassers will make money from the tree cuttings. The report was taken on Feb. 22 at 11:40 a.m.
• A Department of Public Works employee reported damage to a wire box and a pole over the weekend in the 17300 block of Monterey Road. The report was taken at 8:33 a.m. on Feb. 24.
• A resident of Marcia Drive reported someone broke his kitchen window with a basketball. The basketball was still in the yard. The report was taken on Feb. 26 at 10:03 a.m.
Tampering with a vehicle: A resident of the Cochrane Village Apartments reported the rear license plate taken from the resident’s vehicle overnight. The report was taken at 2:22 p.m. on Feb. 18.
• A resident of the Capriano Villas reported the rear license plate was stolen from his company truck. The report was taken on Feb. 21 at 12:01 p.m.
• A resident of the 16900 block of Peppertree Drive reported the rear license plate was stolen from her Dodge Grand Caravan. The report was taken at 2:24 p.m. on Feb. 27.
• A resident of the Madrone Mobile Estates reported someone took both license plates from his Ford Escort. The report was taken on Feb. 28 at 11:56 a.m.
Battery: A Morgan Hill resident told police she wanted to document injuries she received in a fight with her live-in boyfriend. She also told police he will be off work in the afternoon and she is afraid that he will come home while she is packing and cause another fight. The report was taken at 4 p.m. on Feb. 22.
• A Morgan Hill resident reported she was punched in the chest twice by her boyfriend. The report was taken on Feb. 24 at 5:01 a.m.
• A resident of Creekside Village Townhomes reported he and his wife got into a physical fight and his wife choked him. The report was taken at 2:39 p.m. on Feb. 28.
Auto burglary: Someone reported their unlocked vehicle broken into while parked behind the Togos Eatery. The stereo was stolen from the vehicle, along with a portable CD player, a curling iron, cosmetics and clothes. The report was taken on Feb. 8 at 11:33 p.m.
• A Morgan Hill resident reported her purse was stolen from her unlocked vehicle while it was parked on Peak Avenue. The purse contained her cell phone, a PDA, credit cards, two checkbooks, a set of keys and some prescription medicine. She called back later to say she found her purse, with everything inside except $40 in cash. The report was taken at 4:17 p.m. on Feb. 9.
• A resident of the 15100 block of Monticello Way reported his locked Ford Taurus was broken into over night. There was evidence of forced entry on the driver’s side window. Nothing was stolen apparently. The report was taken on Feb. 11 at 9:49 p.m.
• A resident of Morgan Hill reported her locked Isuzu Trooper was parked at Llagas Road and Hale Avenue for sale, and the window on the passenger side was broken. The stereo, a canvas bag and the dashboard were stolen. The resident told police the Trooper was completely ransacked. The report was taken at 11:20 a.m. on Feb. 12.
• Someone reported their locked Chevy Silverado was broken into while parked at Live Oak High School. The rear sliding window was broken, apparently to enter the truck. A stereo, an amplifier and two speakers were stolen. The items were valued at approximately $900 – 1,000. The report was taken on Feb. 12 at 1:24 p.m.
• A resident of the 16700 block of San Luis Way reported she started her vehicle to warm it up and when she returned outside, she saw a male near her vehicle trying to open the car doors. The report was taken at 9 p.m. on Feb. 13.
• A resident of Darnis Circle reported someone broke into her Honda. The interior of the car was ransacked and the passenger side window was broken, but it was unclear if anything was missing. The report was taken on Feb. 14 at 7:43 a.m.
• A resident of the Morgan Hill Apartment Trailers reported stereo and speakers were taken from the resident’s vehicle. The report was taken at 12:46 p.m. on Feb. 18.
• A resident of the 16700 block of Barnell Avenue reported someone broke into his locked vehicle. He told police three males had the trunk of the vehicle open when his wife went out to go to work. The report was taken on Feb. 21 at 3:27 a.m.
• Someone reported a Ford Aspire was broken into while parked behind Cinema Six by the dumpsters. The driver’s side window was broken and the stereo was stolen. The report was taken at 7:11 p.m. on Feb. 22.
• A resident of the 16400 block of San Ramon Drive reported the resident’s stereo was stolen from the resident’s pickup. A window of the pickup was shattered. The report was taken on Feb. 24 at 11:42 a.m.
• An employee of Albertson’s reported when he got off work he saw that his Toyota 4Runner was broken into. The window is broken, and CD’s, a car manual and sinus medicine was stolen. The report was taken at 2:54 a.m. on Feb. 27.
• A resident of the Archstone Apartment Homes reported the resident’s Chevy was broken into overnight. A window was shattered and tools and other items were stolen from the vehicle. The report was taken on Feb. 27 at 10:40 a.m.
Stolen vehicle: A resident of the 100 block of La Crosse Drive reported the resident’s Ford Thunderbird was stolen from its parking space at the residence. The report was taken at 1:26 p.m. on Feb. 12.
• A resident of the 17200 block of Calle Mazatan reported his Mazda was stolen sometime between Feb. 17 and Feb. 19. The report was taken on Feb. 20 at 11:17 a.m.
• A resident of Gilroy reported he had his boat and trailer parked at a residence in the 19200 block of Taylor Avenue and it was stolen from the residence. The report was taken at 6:07 p.m. on Feb. 20.
Fraud: A Morgan Hill resident reported his daughter was at Eastridge Mall in San Jose when she was talked into withdrawing $400 from her account to buy three magazine subscriptions worth less than $25. The report was taken on Feb. 15 at 11:16 p.m.
• A resident of Bender Circle reported his personal information was used to open a cell phone account. The report was taken at 12:46 p.m. on Feb. 18.
• A resident of Fifth Street reported someone opened an account with Sprint under the resident’s name using the resident’s Social Security number. The report was taken on Feb. 20 at 8:26 a.m.
• Someone from Asghar Brothers, Inc., reported one of his former employees, who was fired on Jan. 31, did not make $3,108 worth of deposits. The report was taken at 2 p.m.. on Feb. 21.
Grand theft: Someone with Shea Homes reported a park bench, worth approximately $2,000, was stolen over the weekend from the park at Sage and Hale. The report was taken at 12:47 p.m. on Feb. 17.
• An employee of the Executive Inn Suites reported her purse was stolen. The purse contained $600 in cash, a $50 check, credit cards, her children’s social security cards and medical cards. The report was taken on Feb. 17 at 2:56 p.m.
• Someone from Lashes and Mustaches reported over $15,000 in items stolen from the business. The person told police they didn’t know exactly when the items were taken but believes construction workers may have taken them. The items included a tanzonite necklace, a red crystal necklace, a tanzonite ring, a laptop computer, a camera, three bracelets, ceramic scissors and hair products. The report was taken at 9:49 a.m. on Feb. 18.
• An employee of the Ross Dress for Less reported they had someone in custody for taking $550 in cash and merchandise, but she ran out of the store. The report was taken on Feb. 19 at 9:09 p.m.
• A resident of the 16700 block of Ranger Court reported his skill saw was stolen from the bed of his truck. The report was taken at 2:11 p.m. on Feb. 20.
• A resident of the 14600 block of Badger Pass Road reported he is missing $400 from his bedroom. The report was taken on Feb. 27 at 1:53 p.m.
• Someone from Arts Sheet Metal Manufacturing told police someone apparently jumped the fence and took and air hose, propane tank and a pump. The report was taken at 11:58 a.m. on Feb. 28.
Petty theft: An employee of the 7-11 reported two people took some beer from the store. The report was taken on Feb. 14 at 11:56 p.m.
• An employee of the Longs drug store reported two juveniles attempted to steal alcohol from the store but the employee stopped them. The employee said the same two juveniles attempted to steal alcohol the day before also. The report was taken at 5:58 p.m. on Feb. 17.
• An employee of the Target store reported someone attempted to steal a car seat. The report was taken on Feb. 17 at 7:14 p.m.
• A resident of the 200 block of Burnett Avenue reported his work tools were stolen from his van by someone who worked on the van’s brakes. The tools are worth $150. The report was taken at 7;13 p.m. on Feb. 18.
• An employee of the Nob Hill Foods reported four juveniles stole alcohol from the store. The report was taken on Feb. 21 at 10:15 p.m.
• An employee of Morgan Hill Liquors reported three juveniles stole beer from the store. The report was taken at 7:40 p.m. on Feb. 22.
• An employee of Mervyn’s reported four juveniles stole approximately $200 in jeans, sweatshirts and other merchandise. The report was taken on Feb. 23 at 2:19 p.m.
• A Target security guard told police he chased a male who stole two CD players from the store. The report was taken at 2:04 p.m. on Feb. 24.
• A Morgan Hill resident reported someone stole his cell phone from his golf bag while he was in Thailand. The report was taken on Feb. 26 at 3:07 p.m.
• An employee of Mervyn’s reported a female was detained for stealing clothes and shoes. The report was taken at 3:33 p.m. on Feb. 26.
• A resident of 15300 La Mar Drive reported someone stole his American flag that was mounted to his garage. The report was taken on Feb. 28 at 12:02 p.m.
