Pinto Division Reds vs. Giants For the Reds, Joey Davey hit a
rounded the bases on a line drive down the third base line and
subsequent throwing errors. Christapher Harris hit an RBI double
deep into center field. Curtis Theard and Blake Porzio also hit RBI
doubles. RBI singles were provided by Dylan Kral, Harris, Theard,
Daniel Ancheta, Kevin Nielson and Ty Gardner.

Reds vs. Giants

For the Reds, Joey Davey hit a rounded the bases on a line drive down the third base line and subsequent throwing errors. Christapher Harris hit an RBI double deep into center field. Curtis Theard and Blake Porzio also hit RBI doubles. RBI singles were provided by Dylan Kral, Harris, Theard, Daniel Ancheta, Kevin Nielson and Ty Gardner.

Kevin Nielson made a good fielding play on the mound. His throw to Brett Kirchick at first base beat the runner for an out. Harris at shortstop made a good field and throw to first for an out. Gardner fielded an infield grounder and nabbed the runner at second base.

For the Giants, Jaryd Pollard, Andrew Bueno, Mitchell Crowley and Joey Trillo had some outstanding defensive plays. In the second inning, Pollard at second base got the runner out at second and another out at first by rocketing the ball to Crowley at first.

In the fourth inning, Crowley again proved invaluable at first base by getting three outs when Joey Trillo at second and Andrew Bueno as pitcher came up with assists. In the fifth inning, Bueno made a leaping snag of a line drive to firstTrenton Cisewski did an good job as catcher for the Giants for four innings and hit a solid single to right field in the fourth inning. Pollard also had a double in the fourth inning, and Andrew Bueno had a three-run homer in the fifth.

Mustang Division

Giants 10, Cardinals 7

The Giants and Cardinals played through rainy conditions especially in the fifth and sixth innings. Andy Graves and Aaron Wallace scored three runs each for the Giants. Brett Fuller, who had four RBIs, and Kyle Dunne scored two runs. For the Cardinals, Trevor Fuhriman and Carlos Naranjo scored two runs.

Nick Charron, Derrick Taylor and Cody Taylor also scored runs. Cody Taylor made a great catch in right field in the fourth inning. Ryan Capozza, Carlos Naranjo and Dominic Changco pitched well for the Cardinals. Brett Fuller gave up one run for the Giants in the first inning and pitched a scoreless second. Conor Havstad and Aaron Wallace also pitched well for the Giants.

Yankees 4, Cardinals 0

The Yankees compiled their third shutout in their last four games with a 4-0 victory over the scrappy Cardinals at El Toro field in a great defensive game. Gomez and Cummins had hits for the Cardinals and of the Cardinals was strong on defense. Chris Barber and Kenny Howell combined for a two-hitter and struck out 14 of the Redbirds.

Only one Cardinal baserunner made it to third base against the tough Yankee defense. The Cardinal defense was almost equal to the task. Eddie Gomez and Matt Cummins pitched extremely well for the Cardnals, and both also came up with hits offensively. Craig Cook, William Sparling and Steven Smith all made good plays. Adam Perez, the Cardinals’ catcher, was a wall all night, blocking many low pitches and gunning down a fast runner at second base. Koedy Brandt also had a strong defensive game for the Cardinals.

For the Yanks, Howell had his third consecutive perfect day at the plate, walking three times and singling. Cameron Willis had two strong hits and as catcher threw out two base stealers. On one of the throws, Howell made a great catch and tag.

Michael Guio launched a long double to right center to plate a run. Barber and Timmy Davey added singles. Davey made a great diving catch in the outfield that helped preserve the shutout. Dereck Rinauro, Robert Silva, Kyle Hennings and Jim Molnar also looked good at the plate for the Yankees.
