Meteors 5, Galaxy 1

The Meteors started the first inning with a single by Nestley Combs who later scored on an RBI from Amber Fearnside. Some strong pitching by Brianna McGuire of the Galaxy ended the inning. The Galaxy tied the score with a run of their own in the second inning.

In the bottom of the second inning, Brittney Purcell was hit by a pitch and then stole both second and third bases to set up another RBI by Katie Machado of the Meteors.

The third inning saw some excellent defensive plays by Andrea Simoneau and Courtney and Morgan Nilmeyer of the Galaxy.

The Meteors took a commanding lead on singles by Melanie Menage, Amber Fearnside and Emily Malech and a second RBI by Amber Fearnside.

The Meteors held their 5-1 lead through the fourth inning on some excellent fielding and support by Myriah Chase, Katie Graham, Karyn Liensdorf, Abby Reynolds and Viviana Rubino.

Moonbeams 8, Meteors 7

The Moonbeams took a 3-0 lead in the first inning and added four more in the second inning on some great hitting including a double by Gail Wiselogel.

The Meteors stormed back in the second inning with four runs of their own. They started with a double by Karyn Liensdorf, a single by Kate Graham, a beautiful bunt by Viviana Rubio, an RBI by Katie Machado and another double by Emily Malech.

After shutting the Moonbeams down in the third inning on some strong pitching by Nestley Combs, the Meteors scored two more times on singles by Whitney Alter, Myriah Chase, Melanie Menage and a second double by Karyn Liensdorf. The Moonbeams were up 7-6 entering the fourth inning.

In the fourth inning, the Moonbeams scored once to go ahead by two runs, but the Meteors again fought back. In the bottom of the inning the Meteors brought in another run with a single by Viviana Rubio and a second RBI by Katie Machado.

The Moonbeams shortstop Michelle S. made a nice play to put an end to the Meteors rally.

Asteroids 7, Starlets 1

Amanda Murabito put the first run on the board for the Asteroids but the Starlets posted one as well when Lisa Woodson’s hit brought Ashley Kalata home.

In the second inning, the Asteroids had a flurry of RBIs from Martha Harrison, Ally Troini and Chelsea Girvin.

Starlet Erin Leggett, at first base, kept the Asteroids off the bags in the third inning.

Samantha Parraz started a rally in the fourth with a line drive into center field which was followed by RBIs from Maite Ourricariet, Courtney Murabito and Martha Harrison.
