The Cardinals were led by Andrew Warnock, who hit a two-RBI
single in the second inning and RBI singles in the third, fourth
and fifth innings. Aiden Styczynski added an RBI double in the
fourth and followed with an RBI single in the fifth.
Pinto Division

Cardinals vs. Reds

The Cardinals were led by Andrew Warnock, who hit a two-RBI single in the second inning and RBI singles in the third, fourth and fifth innings. Aiden Styczynski added an RBI double in the fourth and followed with an RBI single in the fifth. Garrison Buss hit an RBI single in the fourth inning and an RBI double in the fifth. Michael Dukes added RBI singles in the fourth and fifth innings.

Jimmy Hagan, on the mound, and Nelson Pyle, at first base, combined for an out in the second inning. Nelson Pyle assisted in two outs in the third inning, one on a high popup and the other by fielding an infield grounder and relaying to David Robinson on first.

The Cardinals’ defense recorded three straight outs in the fourth inning. Second baseman Michael Dukes recorded two of the three. The last out was gobbled up by shortstop Nelson Pyle, who fielded a grounder and relayed to Jimmy Hagan on first for the out.

The Reds started in the first inning with a home run by Joey Davey. Blake Porzio pounded a two-RBI home run deep into center field in the third inning, and Ty Gardner added a solo home run in the same inning. Christapher Harris added to the total with a solo home run in the fifth inning into deep center field. In addition to their home runs, Porzio also hit a triple and Gardner hit an RBI single. Dylan Kral added to the Reds’ scoring with a two-RBI double and Garrett Taylor hit three RBI singles. RBI singles were added by Daniel Ancheta and Kyle Robertson.

The Reds played well in the field as well. Ty Gardner played a key role in the Reds’ defense, catching a fly ball in the second inning and fielding grounders and stepping on the bag to catch the lead runner at second base in the second and fourth innings. Gardner also was involved in two outs in the third inning, fielding bouncing grounders and relaying to Kevin Nielson on first for the outs.

Daniel Ancheta also recorded two outs by fielding grounders and tagging the bag at second base in the second and third innings. A good fielding play by Garrett Thomas in right field prevented Cardinal batter from gaining extra bases in the third inning. Joey Davey aided defensively effort by fielding two grounders in the fifth inning and relaying to Gardner on first.

Rangers vs. Angels

For the Angels, Ryan Mitchell hit two home runs out of the park. Patrick Hanne followed close behind with two home runs of his own. Brandon Duran tripled and doubled with two RBIs and Jordan Cambra stretched for a double and an had an RBI. Westyn Herscovitch, Christopher Schweitzer, Sean Silveira, Jessica Mitchell, Ryce Pipkin and Andrew Bartnuck also hit the ball well for the Angels. Christan Ukanina and Morgan Brum both had solid RBI doubles for the Rangers.

Defensively Tommy Naranjo of the Rangers made a diving catch at third base to get the first out of the game. Angels shortstop Ryan Mitchell snagged a line drive and tossed it to Sean Silveira at second for a double play. The Angels Holly Lam delivered a solid pitching performance in the third inning and Franky Gomez of the Rangers snagged a drive while covering third to close out the fifth inning.

Cardinals vs. Reds

In a rematch with the Cardinals, the Reds were led offensively by Michael Crane, who brought in a run in the second inning and two in the fifth on a pair of singles. Blake Prozio, Brett Kirchick, Kyle Robertson Ty Gardner, Dylan Kral and Joey Davey hit doubles.

The Cardinals were led by David Robinson, who hit RBI singles in the first and third innings and capped off his effort with a two-RBI home run in the fifth. Nelson Pyle sped around the bases for a two-RBI triple in the first and had a solo home run in the fifth. Aiden Styczynski had an RBI single in the second and a two-RBI double in the fourth inning.

Mustang Division

Yankees 6, Twins 2

For the Yankees, Nick Pusateri had two doubles and Miguel Carlos walked, stole second and third and eventually scored. Kai Von had a double and a triple for the Twins and also pitched well. Von, Leland McDonald and Nick Price gave the Yankees a solid effort on the mound.

Bronco Division

Braves 4, Giants 1

Casey Smola had and an RBI, and Eric Robertson was 2-for-3 with an RBI for the Braves. Both Gino Curiel and Chris Bradley went 2-for-3 for the Giants. Jared Thomas also had a key hit for the Giants. Jeremy Damon played flawless defense for the Braves at shortstop, and David Dickstein had a strong game at third base. Ryan Moyano pitched fifth scoreless inning, giving up three hit hits. And Charlie McClung pitched two innings for the save. Brian Bradley and Mason Lammers pitched well for the Giants in the pitcher’s duel.

Pony Division

Athletics 9, Angels 8

The Athletics rebounded from a 4-2 deficit to take the lead with 4 runs in the fifth inning. Ryan Evanger pitched two great innings for the A’s, allowing just one run, as the Angels stranded five base runners.

For the Angels, Derek Campagna threw three shutout innings, allowing just one hit and striking out five. In the third inning, Billy Hill doubled for the Angels and scored on a balk to give the Angels a 2-0 lead. The A’s scored twice in the top of the fourth, as Evanger and Kevin Vye both scored on a triple by Tim O’Rourke. Campagna got out of the inning without any further damage, as he struck one batter out and was aided by a great catch in left field by Garrett Stocker.

The Angels responded with two runs as well, as Kevin Grove doubled home Steven Johnson and scored on a wild pitch. The A’s scored four times in the fifth inning, as Jeffrey Heil, Evanger, Vye and Jonathan Simcho all reached base safely and subsequently scored.

Heil scored in the sixth as well. O’Rourke had his second extra-base hit with an RBI-double. The Angels tied the game in the bottom of the sixth – with Travis Avilla and Steven Johnson both singling ahead of Grove’s two-RBI triple. Stocker got the next RBI on a ground out.

With the game tied in the last inning, the A’s scored twice after walks and an Angels’ error. However, Angels closer Avilla minimized the damage, with two strikeouts. In the bottom of the seventh, the Angels scored one run as Billy Hill walked and eventually scored on an Avilla single. With the tying and winning runs on second and third, A’s closer Kevin Sullivan retired the final batter.

Angels 5, Yankees 3

In a rematch, the Angels avenged their previous loss to the Yankees with a 5-3 victory that was not decided until the final out. The Angels ended the Yanks’ nine-game winning streak by playing an almost flawless game. The two teams are again tied for first place.

The pitching by both teams was excellent. There was only one walk issued in the entire game. Angel pitchers Kevin Grove and James Johnson held the Yankees to five hits while striking out 13. The Angels were backed by a strong defense that had only one error. Yankee hurlers Cameron Willis and Chris Barber were effective, striking out eight Halos and allowing one walk. Barber pitched three no-hit innings in relief.

The Angels did most of the damage in a four-run second inning. Johnson led off with a bloop single to center. With one out, Travis Avila and Kevin Mom singled. Danny Nelson blooped a double down the left field line that barely evaded the diving Kyle Hennings to bring in two runs with two outs. Jonathan Hughes and Billy Hill followed with singles to plate Nelson.

The Angels added their fifth run in the fourth on singles by Mom, Nelson and Hughes. Willis was able to limit the damage by picking off Nelson before Hughes’ single.

The Yanks struck back with single runs in the second, third and sixth innings. Kenny Howell tripled and scored on a ground ball by Jim Molnar. In the third inning, Blake Winzeler doubled and later scored on a passed ball.

Barber was safe on an error, stole second and then scored on Howell’s double Iin the sixth. Earlier, Nelson robbed Howell of another double in the fourth with a diving catch in center field. Johnson ended the game, leaving Willis stranded at second base in the seventh inning. For the Angels, Nelson, Hughes, Hill and Mom each had two hits. Howell and Willis went 2-for-3 for the Yankees.
