In June, the Morgan Hill is celebrating the contributions of more than 50 volunteers who help the library. Staff is busy planning a reception for June 7. In addition, the Friends of the Library have funded a book to add to the library’s collection in honor of each volunteer.
There are three main volunteer opportunities at the Library. The Friends of the Morgan Hill Library will contribute over $20,000 in 2003 to improve library service to the community. You can join the Friends and volunteer to help with their book sales and other fundraising activities.
The donation of the Friends supports Summer Reading Programs for children and teens, the popular Best Seller collection, the adult book clubs, the microfilming of local newspapers, and more.
The library also welcomes volunteers to help keep the collection in order and other special jobs. Teens looking for community service involvement (or fulfilling high school requirements) are also active at the library all year. Potential volunteers should call the library at 779-3196.
Thank you to the 50-strong volunteer force of the Morgan Hill Library. You make a difference and we appreciate all that you do.
