To celebrate the beginning of the park season, the Santa Clara County Parks and Recreation Department is sponsoring “Go Outside and Play Day” on Sunday June 8, 2003.

This will be a day where all vehicle entry fees are waived and the public is encouraged to enjoy the outdoors and the activities that county parks provide including hiking, biking, trap and skeet shooting, horseback riding, picnicking or just lying around and relaxing.

With more than 44,000 acres of parklands in 27 parks within Santa Clara County, there is a park in nearly everyone’s neighborhood. In addition, visitors can purchase Venture Passes for vehicles and vessels at any county park-staffed entrance station, or the automated ticket vending machine found at most park entrances or parking lots.

This annual pass allows unlimited access to county parks for 12 months from the month of purchase. Venture Passes cost just $50 and will be offered for sale at all county parks. The Santa Clara Parks and Recreation Department consists of more than 44,000 acres of regional parklands, trails, lakes, streams and open space in 27 parks located throughout Santa Clara County.
