Coyote Lake park rangers are offering two events Saturday that are open to the public.

Discover a land filled with subduction zones, rift valleys and transverse faults from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. Join Ranger Crockett on a moderate 3-mile hike to the south end of Mummy Mountain.

With fun activities and games, find out how the park and the South Valley were formed. Bring a hat, sunscreen, layered clothing, water and a lunch. Meet at the visitor center.

Or, join Ranger Julie Lee for a fun and creepy look at critters that go “bump in the night” from 8-9 p.m. Participate in fun activities and listen to a spooky story while eating creepy treats. Meet at the visitor center.

For details on these programs, or if you’d like to schedule a Ranger Program for you or your group, call 842-7800.
