Firefighters found two trailers and some nearby trees fully
engulfed with flames Monday evening when they arrived at 595
Monterey Road near Bailey Avenue, north of Morgan Hill. The fire
was reported at 5:45 p.m. and soon went to a second alarm, with
units from the Santa Clara County Fire Department, San Jose Fire
Department and California Department of Forestry, South County unit
reporting to the scene.

At least one lane of Monterey Road was closed to traffic. Both southbound and northbound trains were halted to allow hoses to be deployed across the tracks. Power lines were down and other trailers were threatened for a time. One firefighter was slightly injured.
