• Auto burglary: A resident of Mathilda Court reported her Honda Accord was broken into overnight. A window was shattered, and the stereo was stolen. The report was taken at 7:29am.
• Suspicious circumstances: A resident of Tilton Avenue reported a male suspect named “Anthony” came to the home and said he was from the city, testing the water, and she now thinks he stole money from her purse. The Department of Public Works told police they didn’t send anyone to her home. The report was taken at 12:07pm.
• Burglary: A resident of Oak Hill Court reported he came home and found a female in a nice car parked in his driveway. He told police a male then walked out of his garage and got in the car. When the resident went inside his home, he found drawers opened, and his checkbook was stolen. He gave police a description of the suspects. The report was taken at 3:08pm.
• Vandalism: A resident of the Cochrane Village Apartments reported her ex-roommate broke a screen at the apartment. The report was taken at 8:59pm.

• Petty theft: A Morgan Hill resident reported her purse containing a cell phone and her car keys was stolen while she was in the El Noa Noa bar on Monterey Road. The report was taken at 12:14am.
• Arrest: Richard A. Rivera, 46, of Morgan Hill was cited and released on suspicion of being under the influence of a controlled substance. The report was taken at 12:14am.

• Auto burglary: A landscaping company reported a company truck with a trailer was broken into while parked at the Community and Cultural Center at Monterey Road and Dunne Avenue. A lock was broken, and a blower was stolen. The report was taken at 10:35am.
• Identity theft: A 17-year-old Morgan Hill resident reported she went to open a bank account and was told she had bad credit. Someone has been using her Social Security number. The report was taken at 12:43pm.
• Disturbance: Sobrato High School reported two students were detained for fighting as school let out. The report was taken at 3:35pm.

• Petty theft: Holiday Inn Express on Condit Road reported the sister of an employee was caught on video stealing a computer from the hotel. There was another female with her, also seen on the tape. The report was taken at 2:59pm.
• Grand theft: A contractor at a wedding reception in the Community and Cultural Center reported electronic equipment was stolen during the reception. The report was taken at 11:07pm.
October 9
• Battery: A man who recently moved to Morgan Hill was assaulted but apparently could not remember where, though it may have been near Central Avenue. He received lacerations to the head and required stitches. Officers reported he was “uncooperative,” and he left the hospital with his family and friends. The report was taken at 4:07am.
• Vandalism: A resident of Cosmo Avenue at Del Monte Avenue reported nine vehicles in the area were vandalized. Their tires were slashed, and some were also “keyed.” The report was taken at 11:19am.
• Battery: The ex-wrestling coach for Sobrato High reported he was assaulted by the Live Oak wrestling coach on Nov. 17, 2004 and would now like to press charges against him. The report was taken at 1:18pm.
• Auto burglary: A resident of the Cochrane Village Apartments reported her vehicle was broken into overnight. Something was apparently used to pry open the door. Her husband’s headset for work, valued at $1,000, was stolen. The report was taken at 2:59pm.
• Suspicious person: A Morgan Hill resident reported their 7-year-old neighbor told them about a suspect who tried to get the children to talk to him at approximately 2:30-3pm for the last three days. They gave police a description of the suspect’s vehicle. The report was taken at 7:17pm.
