The Pride once again played in temperatures of over 100 degrees
in the Pleasanton tournament. The team played well and will advance
to the Nationals in Roseville.

Pride 5, Smoke 3

Tanya Ferry started on the mound with Shayna Osuna behind the plate. At the top of the third inning, the Smoke had the bases loaded, but Ferry remained calm and did not allow any of the runs to come in.

Jenna Robertson stepped onto the plate in the fourth inning and struck out two batters. Ferry, Robin Nelson and Kourtney Kientzy hit solid singles to the outfield.

Mary Luna and Vanessa Santoya laid down beautiful bunts to advance the Pride runners.

Pride 4, Smoke 4

The Pride played the Pleasanton Phantom in game two. Robertson pitched a good game to Kientzy behind the plate. Nelson and Santoya made outstanding catches in the outfield. Nelson also made an excellent throw from center field to home to keep the Phantom from scoring.

Brooke Willis, at third, caught a hard hit line drive to finish the inning. Offensively, Nelson, Willis, Kientzy, Angelica Michel, and Ally Bersanti hit singles. RBIs were given to Nelson and Santoya.

Pride 8, Valley Magic 0

Pride started off the morning with an early game against the Valley Magic. Nelson, JC Clayton, Kientzy, Osuna, Santoya and Michel smacked the ball. Kientzy and Clayton were 3-for-3. Clayton stole base after base. Kientzy, Osuna, Luna and Santoya were given RBIs. Robertson pitched a great game to Osuna striking out five batters. The girls did not allow any runs. Clayton ended the game with a super scoop at short to get the runner at first.

Sizzle 5, Pride 3

The Pride played a great game, but could not hold onto the lead, and the Sizzle moved ahead in the bottom of the fifth inning to win the game.

Robin Nelson had two terrific catches in center field. Ferry made some good plays at second base. Clayton struck out three batters. Santoya laid down a nice sacrifice in the third inning.
