by winning the last tournament played at Twin Creeks.

Lemore Pride 5, MH Pride 4
The Morgan Hill Pride came out strong with two runs in the first inning. Colleen Henningsen started off with a single and stole second.
Heather Hays got hit by a pitch. Both advanced on a double steal. Henningsen and Hays both stole home on wild pitches.
The Lemore Pride scored two runs of their own on their half of the first inning. But Morgan Hill put two more runs in the third with another single by Henningsen. Lindsay Capozza got on with an error, advancing Henningsen to second base.
Brittney Ondich smashed a double to left field, scoring them both to make the score 4-2. Lemoore came back strong again with a run in the third.
The score remained 4-3 until Lemoore put together a two-run, two-out rally in the last inning to win 5-4.
MH Pride 13, Palo Alto All-Stars 1
Capozza, who has been the Pride’s ace all year, allowed only four hits in this game.
The Pride came out strong, scoring in each of the three innings played. In the first, Henningsen drew a walk, Sabrina Lacorte moved her over with a sacrifice bunt.
Capozza got on base with an error on the shortstop then Ondich stepped up to the plate and blasted a three-run home run.
Hays and Theresa Jacob followed with a consecutive singles. Mattie Borges brought them both in with a two-out double to left, making it 5-0.
The Pride scored four more runs in the second inning with two outs. Capozza drew a walk. Ondich launched a triple, scoring Capozza.
Allyson Yamashita hit a single, scoring Ondich, and Hays got on with an error. Theresa Jacob scored both girls with a single up the middle, making it 9-0.
Palo Alto scored a run in the third inning, but the Pride answered back after Jakleen Palacios smashed a single up the middle. Henningsen drew a walk and Lacorte hit a single scoring Palacios.
Capozza belted a two-run double to right. Ondich drew a walk, and Hays hit a single scoring Capozza and Ondich.
MH Pride 9, Galt Illusions 2
They Pride focused and scored five runs off the top. Once again, Henningsen started it off with a single, then stole all three bags for the first run.
Capozza drew a walk and scored on a triple by Ondich. Yamashita laid down a beautiful suicide bunt to score Ondich. Consecutive singles form Hays, Theresa Jacob and Borges produced two more runs.
The Pride came up with three more runs in the second when Lacorte nailed a double, and Ondich hit a single scoring Lacorte. Yamashita hit a single, and Hays drilled a two-run triple over left fielder’s head.
The Pride’s defense stepped up once again, committing no errors and shutting down an Illusion rally when Gennifer Giusianna made an awesome catch in center field.
MH Pride 5, Palo Alto All-Stars 0
The Pride played its best defensive games on this one, once again playing errorless ball and holding the All-Stars to no runs behind Capozza’s once-hit shutout.
Henningsen drew three walks and scored all three times. Capozza went 2-for-2 with a two RBIs. Giusianna also contributed, drawing a walk then stealing all three bases to score in the fifth inning.
Borges turned a nice double play. Ondich had 10 put outs at first base.
MH Pride 7, Galt Illusions 0
There was no stopping this hot Pride team. Their sweet defense was the key to this victory, committing just one error.
Capozza pitched a three-hit shutout and threw her best game ever hitting all locations and working her changeup.
Hays was a solid rock behind home plate after working with Angela Locsin, the pitching coach, on calling the pitches. Both Henningsen and Giusianna drew two walks and scored twice.
The Pride almost got a runner sleeping when they called out a secret play they’ve been practicing, but the girl was called safe under Palacios’ tag.
The Pride played seventh tournaments this year, placing third twice, second once and winning two championships. Morgan Hill outscored its opponents 246–132 and won 10 games in a row including 16 of its last 19 games.

“All the girls are incredible,” said manager Jimmy Palacios. “Words can’t describe how much fun I had this summer.
Their style and finesse of play was so exciting and fun to watch every weekend,” Palacios added. “I don’t think I will ever have a more solid team then this 2003 Pride team. The girls have shown me great character, leadership and above all, sportsmanship. Good luck in your futures. You all have a special talent. Hope to see you out in the field next year.”
