Xavier’s American flag will be raised by VFW friend Eddie Bowers Saturday morning and will fly over the Morgan Hill Veteran’s Memorial, Monterey Road at First Street, all day.
Xavier and his wife Ruth, who died in 1988 after the couple celebrated 44 years of marriage, had three children: Ervine Junior (Butch) who died in 1986, daughter Eyvonne who died at age 32 and Jim who is a captain with the Santa Clara County Fire Department, stationed in Morgan Hill.
Xavier is survived by Jim, Jim’s wife Jayne and daughters Elyssa and Eyvonne; Ervine Junior’s sons Cameron, Cory and Chad plus Cory’s son Logan; and by Eyvonne’s daughter Trudy and her daughters Julia and Rachael Sidener.
Jim Xavier invites his father’s friends to come to the service prepared to tell stories. Xavier was a person about whom there are many.
