Mia Verona of Morgan Hill died in the early morning of March 3, 2003, after a lengthy illness.
She was born on Feb. 20, 1948, in Korea and came to California in 1972. She was married to Sam Verona in March 1973. They have lived in Morgan Hill since 1977. She was the owner of Creekside Cleaners in Morgan Hill since 1991.
During her last 28 years of kidney dialysis, Mia faced her challenges with an enthusiasm for life and a “never-give-up” attitude. She was a very special person.
At Mia’s request, there will be no public services. However, within your own family, Mia wanted all to remember her by sharing a memory and a prayer for her. At a later time, her husband Sam will take her ashes to be with his family in Montana.
She is survived by her husband, Sam; son Michael; mother Son Bi Lee; sister Sang Young Kim; brother-in-law Kyung Su Kim; nephews Peter and John Kim; niece Susan Sung; sister-in-law Kathy Stowell; and other family members in Korea.
Mia was well known at El Camino Hospital in Mountain View, and appreciated the wonderful care she was always provided. Mia requested that any donations on her behalf be made in Memory of Mia Verona for Kidney Dialysis Projects to: El Camino Hospital Foundation, 2500 Grant Road, Willow Pavilion, Mountain View, CA 94040.
