Rita M. Owen died March 14, 2003.
A native of New York, she was 61. Mrs. Owen was a longtime Gilroy resident and employee of the Santa Clara County Health Department for 30 years. She was a member of St. Mary’s Church and was loved by many. She will be missed by all whose lives she has touched. She was a loving mother and devoted friend to many.
She is survived by children Maureen Fredrickson of Morgan Hill, Denise Owen and Patricia Owen, both of Gilroy; grandchildren Matthew Langley of Morgan Hill, Tyler Rochester of Napa, Shayla Holbrook and J.C. Castaneda, both of Gilroy; siblings Eileen Camillone of Connecticut, Joan Brennan of New York and the late Eugene Hurley and Connie Hurley; and many nieces and nephews. She was the loving friend of John Devencenzi of San Jose.
A Memorial Mass will be at 11:30 a.m. Wednesday, March 18, at St. Mary Church in Gilroy under direction of Habing Family Funeral Home.
The family asks that any donations be made to St. Mary’s Church, Gilroy.
