Sept. 3 meeting On the City Council consent calendar, approved 5-0

• Two high speed railroad routes have been proposed through the Orestimba Wilderness in Henry Coe State Park. Councilman Larry Carr asked that the council oppose these routes to protect the stated use of the wilderness area, which is mandated to remain clear of permanent roads and mechanical transports. Approved the recommendation. 5-0P

• Approved a contract with Environmental Planning Consultants for a routine performance audit of South Valley Disposal for $37,400. 5-0P

• Cancelled agricultural preserve and land conservation contract from 1978 that was never properly filed with the city or the county under the Williamson Act and is now causing difficulties for the property’s new owner. Cancelling the contract will allow the developer of Quail Creek to clear the title on the property. 5-0P

• Amended agricultural preserve and land conservation contracts, resolution no. 1258, affecting the same Quail Creek property; the amendment would eliminate the agricultural preserve catatorization of the property, again to ease difficulties for the current owner. 5-0P

• Accepted subdivision improvements for tract 9383, Sterling Estates, a five-lot development on Juan Hernandez and San Vicente drives. San Vicente Court is entered as a new street and name on the Morgan Hill map. 5-0P

• Approved reimbursement for undergrounding of overhead utilities by Live Wire, LLC at the Harley Davidson property on Condit Road across from the aquatic center. The contractor asked to be reimbursed for undergrounding work done on an adjacent 160 linear feet of property, not part of the Harley Davidson site but required by the city to complete work in that area. The company also requested reimbursement of one-half the cost of undergrounding on the Harley Davidson property. Total cost of reimbursement is $53,185. 5-0P

• Adopted Ordinance No. 1628, new series, approving a development agreement for a 29 single-family units built on Hale Avenue by the Glenrock Group. (APN 764-09-27 and 764-09-026). 5-0P

• Adopted ordinance no. 1629, new series, forbidding disking on land suspected of harboring burrowing owls. 5-0P

• Adopted ordinance no. 1630, new series, establishing rules for converting rental mobile home parks to condominium/resident ownership and non-mobile home park uses, such conversions will be primarily subject to Planned Unit Development. 5-0P
