music and dance. Experience the world of illusion with a master of
sleight of hand
– Majinga the Magician – as charming as he is skilled. Designed
for children 8 and up and sponsored by the Recreation Dept., the
show will also feature Magic Genii, Chiquy Boom and Mo’menein Belly
Dance Group from Morgan Hill.
Grab the kids tonight and high-tail it down to the Morgan Hill Community Playhouse for an evening of mystery, laughter, magic, music and dance. Experience the world of illusion with a master of sleight of hand – Majinga the Magician – as charming as he is skilled. Designed for children 8 and up and sponsored by the Recreation Dept., the show will also feature Magic Genii, Chiquy Boom and Mo’menein Belly Dance Group from Morgan Hill.
Majinga will perform amazing feats including the birth of a real five-foot long dragon, magic birds and illusions including the famous Houdini hand shackle escape and the illusion he made famous – the metamorphosis.
World music will be provided by Fontain’s M.U.S.E.
Magic Genii will assist Majinga and present her own elevated dance on stage. Chiquy Boom will join Magic Genii and Mo’menein for a special belly dance performance!
Tickets are $15 and doors open at 7:30 for first come-first served seating with the show starting at 8 p.m.
A second evening of magic, this time for the younger set, is scheduled for Friday, Aug. 8. Tickets for both shows are available at the community center, open Monday through Friday, 8 a.m.-5 p.m.; until 8 p.m. on Wednesdays and Saturdays from 9-11 a.m. Tickets for the Aug. 8 show in advance: $10/kids; $15/adults; $35/groups of four.
