Pinto Division Braves vs. Reds Christian Davies-White used good
base running skills to turn a single into a double in the first
inning. Blake Latos was twice hit by pitches but gamely stayed at
the plate and hit safely both times. Stephen Archbold showed good
power by hitting a ball into the outfield in the fourth inning.
Archbold’s hit was followed by Bradley Morris, who beat the throw
to first base and ran hard for the rest of the inning to score a
run. Zack Hughes got a power hit off the pitching machine into the
outfield in the fifth inning. Both Ben Hughes and Patrick Gustafson
hit safely in all three of their at bats.
Pinto Division

Braves vs. Reds

John Forestieri showed strong pitching and good fielding skills in the third inning, twice fielding hits and throwing to first baseman Mark Butterworth for the out. Butterworth also recorded the last out of the inning by fielding a hot grounder down the first base line and tagging the base. The Braves awarded the game ball to Joseph Syres for his strong batting and base running performance.

Offensively, the Reds were led by Brett Kirchick, who hit a three-RBI home run in the fifth inning. Adding to the Reds’ offense was Curtis Theard, with an RBI double and two RBI singles; Christapher Harris, with an RBI triple and two RBI singles; Daniel Ancheta, with a two-RBI double; Kevin Nielson, with an RBI double and an RBI single; and Ty Gardner, with a two-RBI single. RBI singles were hit by Dylan Kral and Kyle Robertson. Also, Joey Davey and Dylan Kral both hit solo triples in the game. Garrett Taylor continued an impressive streak of hitting safely, getting a double and two singles. Michael Crane also hit two singles.

Brett Kirchick stopped a hard grounder in the first inning and fired to first baseman Curtis Theard for the out. Third baseman Kevin Nielson then charged a dribbler down the third base line and threw to Theard for the out. The inning finished with Joey Davey snagging a fly ball off the top of the grass.

Second baseman Ty Gardner was responsible for three outs in the second inning, fielding two balls and tagging runners heading for second and then taking a throw from shortstop Brett Kirchik for the third out. In the third inning, Blake Porzio, on third base, made a good stop of a line drive to prevent extra bases, and Ty Gardner snagged a fly ball for an out. The last out of the game was recorded by Joey Davey on third by fielding a grounder down the third base line and tagging the lead runner heading for third. The Reds awarded the game ball to Joey Davey for good hitting and for his fantastic catch in the first inning.

Giants vs. Reds

Offensively, the Giants were led by Adam Vasquez, who hit a hit in four runs on two singles and a sacrifice. Mitch Crowley added three RBI’s on two singles. Andrew Bueno hit two RBI singles, while Joey Trillo added an RBI double and Justin Salgado hit an RBI single.

The Giants turned in a good defensive game, with pitcher Jackson Davis fielding a grounder and throwing to first baseman Mitch Crowley for an out in the first inning.

Shortstop Andrew Bueno scooped up a grounder and beat the lead runner to second base for the out in the second inning, and pitcher Joey Trillo barely missed a double play when he caught a fly ball and then alertly threw to first baseman Andrew Martinez, with the runner on first just getting back in time. Pitcher Justin Salgado also recorded an out by fielding a grounder down the first base line and tossing to Andrew Bueno on first base for the out.

Offensively, the Reds were led by Blake Porzio, who had four RBI’s on a single and a triple. Curtis Theard added an RBI single and a two RBI home run. Dylan Kral hit a two RBI double, Ty Gardner added two RBIs on a double and a single, and Brett Kirchick added two RBI singles. Michael Crane and Daniel Ancheta hit RBI singles, and Christapher Harris hit an RBI triple.

Defensively, the Reds were led by Brett Kirchick, who recorded a double play by catching a line drive and throwing the ball to Curtis Theard on first base to catch the runner heading for second. Ty Gardner added two outs at shortstop by fielding two grounders, tossing one to Kevin Nielson on first base for the out, and beating the runner to second base for the second out. Daniel Ancheta also added two outs playing second and third base, both times scooping up a grounder and beating the runner to the base. Joey Davey added an out at third base, again by getting the grounder and beating the runner to the bag.

Mustang Division

Reds 8, Braves 5

The Reds defeated the Braves 8-5 in a closely fought game. Reds starting pitcher Rhett Ramirez held the Braves to one run.

And Braves starting pitcher Timmy Giles pitched three tough innings to keep the Braves in the game, as the Reds built an early 4-2 lead.

Leading the hitting attack for the Reds was Rhett Ramirez who hit two for three with a single, one run scored, and a bases loaded two RBI double to help seal the victory. Mike Gallucci hit two singles with two runs scored and one RBI.

Ryan Laird provided the power with two key doubles, one run scored, and four RBIs. Ricky Clift lined a single and reached base by a hit by pitch. Jacob Martin walked twice and scored two runs. Andy Muller walked twice and scored one run. And Brian Maggio walked a scored once.

The Braves offense was lead by Brandon Grose who was three for three with two singles, one double, and one RBI. Colin Douglas lined a triple and single, with one run scored and one RBI. Timmy Giles reached base twice, including a walk, and scored two runs. Tyler Lerma walked and scored one run. And Riggins was hit by a pitch, walked, and scored once.

The Red’s Andy Muller came in to pitch the last three innings while the game was in the balance, and preserved the victory with clutch pitching to close the game out.

Angels 12, Twins 11

Ryan Webb secured the win for the Angels after striking out the last batter of the game and leaving a runner on base. Philip Amber played solid defense at second base and hit a triple and a home run for the Angels.

Offensively, Webb had a single and a double, and Anthony Biondi was 3-for-3. Nick Price and Kai Von both hit home runs for the Twins, Andrew Smith played strong defensively at second base for the Twins.
