Officers from the Unified Narcotic Enforcement Team arrested Diane Marie Nieblas, 44, of 16945 Church St., Wednesday afternoon when she allegedly attempted to sell methamphetamine to undercover agents at a gas station at Monterey Road and Vineyard Boulevard.
“We’ve been working the case for three to four months,” Bob Cooke, task force commander for UNET, said Thursday afternoon. Nieblas is on parole for previous drug offenses; her parole officer was at the scene with UNET.
Also arrested at the scene was Nieblas’ son Joseph Thomas Gaeta, 20, of the same address. Both were booked into the Santa Clara County Jail under suspicion of possession for sale of methamphetamine, possession of paraphernalia and hypodermic syringes. Nieblas was also under suspicion for three “hand-to-hand” transactions involving the drug and the undercover officers.
Bail for Gaeta, Cooke estimated, would be set at $10,000 to $20,000. Nieblas will remain in jail for at least one year because of the parole violation, he said.
