Dear Editor,
I was one veteran among many attending the Memorial Day service in downtown Morgan Hill.
This moving event had just ended. A young woman and boy asked if I was a veteran. I said, “Yes, I am a veteran.” The young woman said, “We would like to thank you.” As she was speaking the boy extended his hand I shook hands with this boy and the young woman.
Then the couple moved into the gathering to offer thanks to other veterans. On that day of remembrance of fallen veterans, I added a cherished memory of thanks from two strangers.
