Brentwood – On a long, hot night, the Morgan Hill Bronco All-Stars held off the Brentwood All-Stars 11-10 to win their first game of the Pony Baseball Regional Playoffs.

The two teams combined to use nine pitchers in a game that lasted more than three hours.

The marathon game ended at midnight with Dom Bejarano of Morgan Hill squeezing a line drive hit by Brentwood’s Alex Roberts with the bases loaded for the final out.

Morgan Hill used nine walks, two hit batters and nine hits to plate a run in all but one inning.

Brentwood mounted comeback after comeback, but could never regain the one-run advantage it held after the first inning.

Pitchers for Morgan Hill were Andy Muller, Ryan Mason, Jackson Gion, Alex Hagiperos and Jerry Jacob.

Leading the Morgan Hill offense with two hits apiece were Bejarano, Hagiperos and Jordan Dexter. Chase Chadband also contributed with a booming triple.

Defensively, Morgan Hill caught three Brentwood base runners to offset 11 walks issued by its pitchers.

Morgan Hill’s next game is Saturday at 5pm against the Mountain View-Los Altos A team.
