Sobrato High School cross country standout Ryan Corvese finished second out of 131 varsity boys at the Chieftain Classic at El Toro Park on Saturday in Salinas.
Corvese’s time of 15 minutes, 51 seconds led all locals in the field. Teammate Cody Hulme (17:05) finished 16th.
Live Oak junior Kalum Bergstrom (17:21) took 24th and junior Eddie King (17:57.70) was 49th.
