Morgan Hill City Council

The city of Morgan Hill will hold an “Access To Capital” event Thursday, where a number of lending institutions will showcase their loan programs aimed at assisting businesses secure financing during these difficult lending times.  

“Providing business assistance and helping business flourish is paramount to our economic development efforts and I would like to thank the financial institutions that are partnering with us to bring resources to our business community,” said Mayor Steve Tate.   

Participating in this event is PG&E, sharing information on their energy efficiency loan programs and rebates; Pinnacle Bank; Opportunity Fund, providing working capital for the hard to finance small

businesses; the Small Business Administration and the Silicon Valley Small Business Development Center, providing a wide range of business resources; and the Grow Morgan Hill Fund, a funding partnership created by the former Morgan Hill Redevelopment Agency and the Grow America Fund, the lending arm of the National Development Council.

“We’re pleased to offer city of Morgan Hill small business owners access to credit in a financing program designed exclusively for them,” said Olivia Rebanal, manager of the Grow Morgan Hill Fund. “The entire community will benefit from the job creation that comes from small business growth.”

“This event is part of the new economic development model of providing business assistance without big incentives; staff is going back to the basics by building partnerships and leveraging resources,” said City Manager Ed Tewes.

The Access to Capital Event will be held from 10 a.m. to noon Thursday, at the Morgan Hill Community & Cultural Center in the El Toro Room, 17000 Monterey St. The event is free.
