It’s now been over two weeks since Morgan Hill teen Sierra LaMar, 15 went missing on March 16 and the community is not yet ready to give up on the search.
Niether is the Santa Clara County Sheriff’s office, said Sgt. Jose Cardoza today.
Although there are no plans for any search and rescue for the day, Cardoza said investigators are following up on the many tips they received over the weekend.
Teams are out there following up on any tips that they think may help with the case.
On Friday, a volunteer found an empty box with the words “stainless steel handcuffs” and used condoms at the west end of Palm Avenue, Cardoza said. It is unknown if the items are related to Sierra’s disappearance and authorities are in the process of analyzing the items.
Sheriff’s detectives planned to further their “canvass searches” this weekend and expand them outward from previous canvasses that focused on the vicinity of Palm and Dougherty avenues.
Investigators have investigated more than 720 tips they have received from residents via phone calls and email, Cardoza said.
Sierra LaMar is about 5-feet, 2-inches tall with a thin build and dark hair.

Saturday, the community held a march for Sierra through downtown to raise awareness to the case. With the aid of the KlaasKids Foundation, thousands of volunteers have been scouring areas of Morgan Hill in hopes to find new clues that may aid law enforcement until today at 1 p.m.
