“Dear Red Phone, what is up with the seeming rivalry/favoritism of the Thursday night and Friday night music events? You note the Friday music in the paper all the time but nothing about the Thursday music series.”
Dear Music Mark, We love any excuse to get outside on a beautiful summer night and dance! Thursday? Friday? Third Street Promenade? Community and Cultural Center? It doesn’t make any difference to us. Both weekly summer staples in Morgan Hill are well-organized and a spectacular way to draw locals and visitors downtown to eat, drink and shop. Just take another look at the front page of the Morgan Hill Times and you’ll see we want to give fair coverage to both events. Here’s the schedules below. See you on the dance floor!
Thursday Night Street Dance: Third Street Promenade, 7 to 9 p.m. Aug. 16: Cadillac Jack; Aug. 23: Vital Signs; Aug. 30: Nigel & Clive; Sept. 6: Road Dogs; Sept. 13: School of the Blues; Sept. 20: Kelly McDonald; Sept. 27: Fast Lane Band.
Friday Night Music Series: Community and Cultural Center Amphitheater 6 to 9 p.m. Aug. 17: Hot Rod, “American Graffiti” Tribute (car show and costume/dance competition); Aug. 24: Newcastle Brothers, classic rock; Aug. 31: Funky Soul Grooves.
